The new KRONE MX: A loading and forage transport wagon with professional credentials sets new standards in the mid-range class 


With the new MX generation, KRONE is introducing a completely redesigned loading and forage transport wagon equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This makes the MX the ideal machine for farmers who demand the very highest standards of comfort and quality.

Spelle, September 2026: With the new MX generation, KRONE is introducing a loading and forage transport wagon which is technically very different from the previous MX model. In future, the MX loading and forage transport wagons will be fitted with the tried-and-tested OptiGrass system and will set new standards in this performance class. The newly designed machine combines high-quality forage, low dead weight and modern drive technology to form a high-performance overall design. This makes the MX, which has been optimised in many areas, ideal for grassland and forage farms. 

“With the new MX generation, KRONE is introducing the Optigrass concept from the RX and ZX series to the more compact loading and forage transport wagon class.” This is aimed in particular at farms which have specific requirements regarding their respective structures, such as sloping terrain or low crossings. “The focus here is particularly on low drag resistance combined with optimum cutting quality to ensure the best forage results,” explains Christian Dresselhaus, Product Manager for Transport Technology at KRONE. 

Design variants to suit every use
The new MX series offers a load capacity ranging from 30 to 38 m³ and is specifically designed for farms which prioritise low drag resistance and efficiency. This is based on a complete redesign featuring an intelligent lightweight construction, saving around one tonne in weight compared with the previous MX model – a decisive advantage in terms of transport, soil protection and fuel efficiency. While the low-profile MX 310, with a total height of around 3.4 m and a capacity of up to 30 m³, is particularly suitable for feeding fresh grass in low-ceilinged buildings or, thanks to its low centre of gravity, for working on slopes, the MX 380, with its 3.7 m high body, impresses with its enormous capacity of 38 m3. The MX 340, with a capacity of up to 34 m³, occupies a middle position here. 

Top-of-the-range equipment: EasyFlow Pick-up and OptiGrass cutting unit
Forage is picked up by an EasyFlow pick-up which has been widened by approx. 20 cm; with a working width of 2.02 m, it provides the basis for excellent cutting quality. Another new feature of the pick-up is the hydraulic drive which allows its rotational speed to be optimally adjusted to the prevailing harvesting conditions at any time, conveniently and directly from the tractor cabin. Even on undulating terrain, the requirement for maximum forage quality is specifically met: Thanks to the suspension at the centre of the rotor and the resulting enormous range of movement, the pick-up reliably follows every contour of the ground – this prevents forage loss and damage to the sward. 
A real highlight is the OptiGrass cutting unit concept – previously reserved for the RX/ZX segment where it has proven its worth time and again – which is now also being introduced in the new MX. This model features a 760 mm diameter integral rotor designed specifically for the MX which is also fitted with wide steel plates and the SplitCut edge-cutting system. This ensures a uniform cut with the most consistent cutting quality.  OptiGrass 37 features either 39 blades, enabling a theoretical cutting length of 37 mm, or OptiGrass 28 features 52 blades, enabling a theoretical cutting length of 28 mm. Both variants are designed to ensure consistently high forage quality, a uniform crop flow and low power requirements. 
The scraper conveyor of the MX also introduces a new feature: For the first time, the chain tensioner is located at the rear of the loading and forage transport wagon, ensuring easy and convenient access for the driver. At the same time, this creates additional space at the front of the wagon, meaning that the scraper conveyor now extends right up to the rotor, ensuring that the contents are emptied out completely. The latter is achieved using large chains which have already proven their worth time and again in KRONE’s large TX forage transport wagon.

When it comes to the drive, KRONE relies on the PowerBelt belt drive. This concept is designed specifically for the performance class of the MX, is rated up to 2,000 Nm and is designed for tractors with power outputs of approximately 130 to 250 hp. Interchangeable pulleys and the resulting adjustable rotor speed allow for optimum adaptation to different operating conditions, while also contributing to the smooth, low-wear operation of the entire system.

High driving and operator comfort
Even with the running gear, KRONE draws on tried-and-tested technology and combines it with new options. The MX is available with either a combined unit or a hydraulic running gear and can be fitted with 22.5-inch or 26.5 inch tyres, ensuring maximum soil protection. The drawbar is designed as an articulated drawbar; a bottom hitching, together with standard self-steering or optional hydraulic forced steering, enhance driving comfort and manoeuvrability.
KRONE is also setting new standards in terms of operation: Thanks to the completely redesigned ISOBUS user interface, all functions can be operated intuitively and numerous automatic functions can be individually configured. This cross-product control concept, featuring a graphical display and a configurable multi-function bar, provides quick access to all key functions. 

Conclusion: Following the example of the machines in the ZX and RX ranges, KRONE has consistently further developed its strategy in the loading and forage transport wagon sector. In each range, characteristics such as the highest forage quality, performance and efficiency are paramount.
