KRONE GX: New generation with contactless forced steering and a new job computer

KRONE has specifically further developed its GX general-purpose wagon in terms of comfort and versatility in order to meet the growing demands of agricultural transport even more effectively. 

Spelle, September 2026: With the new generation of the GX general-purpose wagon, KRONE is consistently expanding its successful vehicle concept. The GX 360, 440 and GX 520 models, with their generous load volumes of 36, 44 and 52 m3 respectively, are receiving a technical update: In addition to a new generation of job computers and a modern user interface, the new GX models feature various design details which further enhance comfort, reliability and cost-effectiveness in day-to-day use. Even from the outside, the update to these models is reflected in a new design. 

New job computer and contactless steering system 
A new job computer forms the basis for a state-of-the-art, very clear and user-friendly interface on the tractor’s terminal. Here, the driver has access to a graphical interface featuring 3D elements and animations, as well as a freely configurable multi-function bar, enabling clear and intuitive control of all key functions. 
The new GX generation features – as is already the case with the loading and forage transport wagons RX, ZX and the TX – a contactless electronic forced-steering system. This system uses a sensor fitted in front of the front axle to determine the optimum steering angle when cornering, taking into account speed and direction of travel. The advantage is that no external switching flags or mechanical connecting elements are required, thereby allowing for even sharper steering angles and significantly improving the vehicle’s manoeuvrability. 
“With the new job computer and contactless forced steering, we are taking the GX to a whole new level of operability and manoeuvrability. These are precisely the functions which our customers are already familiar with and appreciate from our loading and forage transport wagons RX, ZX and the TX – and we are now systematically incorporating them into our general-purpose wagons as well,” explains Christian Dresselhaus, Product Manager for Transport Technology at KRONE. 

In focus: safety and cleanliness 
KRONE has further refined the GX in numerous design details. The aim of these measures is clearly stated: The general-purpose wagon is to become even more robust, cleaner and easier to maintain in day-to-day use. The key optimisations include the following enhancements:
The optimised gearbox position at the front of the wagon creates a great deal of new space. This enhances the self-cleaning effect: any material which falls onto the wagon can simply fall through to the bottom and the wagon delivers maximum operational reliability even under difficult operating conditions.
Optimised seals ensure particularly quiet and reliable operation. At the same time, this protects key components and reduces wear and tear. This means: less maintenance, a high level of operational reliability and a long service life. 

GX in the PLUS and PRO variants
The GX models are available in the "PLUS" and "PRO" variants which differ in terms of their operating and control concepts: GX 360 PLUS, GX 440 PLUS/PRO and GX 520 PRO. 
The PLUS variants are characterised by their simple electronics and hydraulics, as well as their rigid construction, making them ideal for tractors without ISOBUS / LoadSensing, or for hire. To control the wagon, the hydraulic functions are first preselected via KRONE PreSelect and then carried out via the tractor’s control units.
The PRO variants come as standard with an extremely user-friendly ISOBUS direct operation. Hydraulically telescopic side walls to reduce the drop height, a weighing device, contactless electronic forced steering and a radio remote control are also available. In addition, all PRO models come as standard with the "ExactUnload“ function which allows the unloading speed to be adjusted to suit the length of the silo and the tractor’s driving speed. 
Conclusion: With the new generation of the GX general-purpose wagon, KRONE demonstrates how a tried-and-tested vehicle concept can be usefully enhanced through targeted technical developments. The new job computer, the electronic forced steering and numerous optimisations to the finer details make the GX even more versatile, comfortable and reliable in use. This means that the new-generation GX is ideally equipped to meet the diverse demands of modern transport logistics in agriculture and the contracting sector.

For collectors, model-making enthusiasts and KRONE fans, there’s now another highlight: The new KRONE GX general-purpose wagon is now available as a high-quality collector’s model from the KRONE Shop. This model, produced with great attention to detail by the renowned manufacturer ROS and made predominantly from die-cast metal, is a 1:32 scale replica of the GX 440 PRO and impressively captures the characteristics of the original KRONE GX.
