ExactUnload scoops DLG Silver Medal
New GX feature wins Agritechnica award

Spelle, December 2021. In recognition of the new ExactUnload feature, KRONE will receive the DLG silver medal at upcoming Agritechnica.  Introduced in September 2021 on the new GX universal loader wagon, this KRONE solution has been acknowledged as an innovation by the DLG panel of judges. ExactUnload is an intelligent and automatic unloading system that unloads the cargo along a preset length of pit or field clamp. The operator enters the length of the pit to the ISOBUS terminal which uses the information to compute the unloading rate. After starting the system, the operator is prompted to pull off and drive the tractor at the computed forward speed.  As the combination in running down the pit, the system adjusts the unloading rate automatically to the current forward speed. The benefit of this is that it unloads the material in a very uniform mat and along the full length of the pit.

ExactUnload also helps minimise operator fatigue in the heat of harvest, enabling operators to concentrate on steering the combination on the clamp and monitoring the machine functions. ExactUnload is also a great help when setting up a silage clamp or unloading the material in the field. The uniform unloading rate ensures the material is distributed in a unform mat for optimal compacting afterwards.

ExactUnload was first implemented on the new KRONE GX loader wagon, a versatile machine for gentle and yet fast unloading of a wide variety of cargo. The new machine is available in two volume sizes – 44 m3 and 52 m3 – and with two optional discharge rollers. The GX 440 rides on tandem axles and the GX 520 on a tridem unit as standard specification, with both models featuring standard Isobus operation.

The unloading system
The cargo is unloaded by a powerful fabric belt floor that is operated by two chains. Together with the see-through headboard, the belt floor forms the unloading unit which is operated by two hydromotors. The cargo is unloaded as the chains pull this unloading unit to the rear – an extremely gentle way of unloading, because the forage moves slowly and consistently to the rear without squeezing, which is also particularly intriguing for sensitive crops such as vegetables or root crops. After the machine is cleared, the chains pull the unloading unit back to the front end.

Further benefits: This way of unloading shifts the centre of gravity only slightly, thereby preventing the risk of tipping over. Also, the body is not raised for emptying, making the machine suitable for unloading in low buildings.
