KRONE RX and ZX: More operator comfort, more efficiency

KRONE presents a facelift of their RX and ZX forage wagons, featuring smart technology and more operator comfort for maximum efficiency during forage harvesting. 

Spelle, September 2026: With revised technology, advanced digital options and a design consistently tailored to the requirements of today's forage harvesting, KRONE is taking their tried-and-tested forage wagons to a whole new level with the updated models of the RX and ZX forage wagons. Their central feature is a new electronic architecture with a state-of-the-art job computer, a completely revised control concept and a large number of small, practice-oriented improvements that significantly increase operator comfort, ease of maintenance and efficiency in the daily routine.

New job computer and intuitive control concept
The facelifted RX and ZX generation is equipped with a new software platform and high-capacity job computer. This means that the forage wagon now also features the modern human-machine interface solution (HMI) known from other KRONE machines. The operator benefits from a redesigned animated user interface with a more intuitive design which clearly shows all major machine data. At the same time, automated functions can be individually adjusted to the operator and the working conditions, ensuring greater operator comfort, easier machine control and improved efficiency in everyday work. 

Pick-up optimised for maximum harvesting performance
A key feature of the facelift is the comprehensively redesigned pick-up. The working width has been increased from 2.12 m to 2.24 m. This ensures that swaths are picked up even more reliably, particularly when driving around curves, and effectively reduces crop losses. 
In addition, KRONE revised the tine arrangement. The former W-shape has now been replaced by a straight tine arrangement. In this way, seven instead of six row of tines can be fitted, resulting in a higher delivery capacity along with an improved crop flow and a further increase of the cutting quality.
Hydraulically adjustable directly from the cabin, the new crop press roller unit ensures even greater operator comfort. Without leaving the tractor cabin, the operator can adjust the settings instantly when starting on a new field or when reacting to a change in harvesting conditions. This ensures a smooth, undisturbed crop flow which is the basis for a high forage and cutting quality. 

Redesigned blade cassette for even greater ease of maintenance 
Various optimisations were implemented in the area of the blade cassette. Thanks to the significantly improved accessibility of the new blade levers, maintenance work becomes much easier. Furthermore, the machine now has room for a second set of blades. This means that spare or replacement blades can be stored directly on the wagon. In case of worn blades or changing conditions, the operator can quickly replace the blades right on the field, which greatly increases operational reliability during the harvest. 
The redesign of the blade cassette aimed at easier handling, faster maintenance and enhanced comfort in everyday work - significant advantages in labour-intensive harvesting activities. When the blade cassette is swivelled out, a new locking mechanism ensures that it is held securely and firmly in place by means of a latching bolt.

Increased compression and improved operational safety
The new technical features also include reinforced cylinders at the front wall. They increase compression in the wagon for optimum utilisation of the storage volume. Further development of various other components focused on functionality, robustness and reliability, in line with KRONE's practice-oriented approach to the redesign. In this way, KRONE ensures maximum operational reliability under demanding conditions. 

ZX: Unload even faster thanks to a third scraper floor level
The extension of the scraper conveyor drive is a highlight of the facelifted ZX models. In addition to the established standard and rapid levels, they now offer a third level for extra-fast unloading. This is made possible by the redesigned drive motors of the scraper conveyor. With the third level, the wagon can be unloaded even faster, reducing idle times and further increasing the efficiency of the entire harvesting chain. In particular with high throughput, the operator and the company benefit from even more efficient logistics between field and silo. 

Conclusion: With the facelift of the RX and ZX series, KRONE combines state-of-the-art electronics, intelligent control concepts and a wide range of improved technical details to make for a well-balanced total package.
